Along those same lines.....I haven't worked on an IBM mainframe in years.
Been relagated to Hitachi processors of late. But now in my new job AFTER
outsourcing, we have an IBM z890. On the Hitachi CMOS boxen, we ALWAYS
changed the time via the hardware screens on the processor complex, and
then did a POR (Power On Reset) to IML the box, and then proceeded to IPL
each LPAR image. Here, they just issue the CLOCK command and update
SYS1.PARMLIB to change the time, sans IPL.

Obviously BOTH methods work, but I seem to remember a reason WHY issuing
the CMD to MVS (sorry, z/OS) is faulty, that's why we IML'd. ?!?!?!

How do youse all guys/gals do it by you, and/or am I just experiencing
brain lock and/or just having an ALZHEIMERs moment?!
