I think most programmers were in love with that kind of power - until we discovered the downside. Now we *still* want that power - but moderated. I read an article that said that Macintosh's aren't safe because they aren't a target, but because they were willing to start over, with a new (Unix) core. Even mainframers have to use a multitude of systems as our universes merge. Sometimes we need to step back and evaluate what we've got - and be willing to start over. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
