I've never met a DBA that didn't want more/bigger bufferpools. And of course everyone's heard the "the best I/O is no I/O" mantra. Get the DBAs to analyze the current buffer pool stats and prove that a (probably) small increase in hit rate would be worth the (potentially) large increase in storage and it's attendant potential impact on the entire complex. If they can, and it's a benefit to the business, do it. >From my point of view, this functionality seems to be demanded by (and benefit to) the big end of town.
