Try VARY TCPIP,,O,TCPIP.TCPPARMS(PROFILE) Instead. That is what I use successfully. From looking at the examples, it appears that you can use one of two different forms for the command: VARY TCPIP,,CMD=O,DSN=dsn or VARY TCPIP,,O,dsn But you cannot "mix and match". I.e. if you use CMD=, you must use DSN= and if you use DSN=, you must use CMD= for the parser to work correctly. No, the book does not state this in the "railroad" diagram for the command. It is just my SWAG. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
