I will likely need to open a problem with Compuware on this, but I thought that I'd ask here first simply because it is easier and I don't yet have a Compuware logon.
In order to view any AbendAID dumps on TSO, I must have a "viewer" STC active on that system. But now I am confused. The documentation says that a number of files in the "viewer" cannot be shared. Among these are the "shared directory" file. I have a single shared directory so that all dumps go into the same dump file and can be seen, regardless of which system a jobs abends on. First question: "Is this OK?" The book seems to say so. Unfortunately, the book also says that I cannot share this file between viewers. I then looked a "distributed viewing", but the comments around that imply that it is only need if the system(s) do not have shared DASD. Mine do have shared DASD. So, is anybody out there running AbendAID on two or more systems in basic sysplex? Do you share AbendAID dump and listing files? Do you have a "for dummies" type check list of what I need to do so that my second system can share the dump and listing files with the first system? Many thanks. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
