FWIW, I got tired of struggling with emulator settings years ago. I use ISPF Work Station Agent (WSA) for moving files between my workstation and the mainframe.
It's free, it's fast (way faster than IND$FILE, maybe faster than FTP), it's secure and it's easy to use.
