AFAIK, console has 'pools' (a range of numbers) assigned round-robin to
the systems and does not go out *every* time anymore. I haven't bothered
to check the archives, but I think there was a discussion about once
upon a time.

Do you mean to say, that I don't have to specify a maxsys>=9 to reduce
CDS I/O, but that this was taken care of by console restructure?
