Errol,

The best source for "detailed, specific information" about GCL is IBM, not
IBM-Main nor LPAR-Pricing. If you've noticed, not one person replying to this
thread was an IBMer. Your local IBM software pricer should be able to get you
all the answers you need that aren't covered in the SCRT manual, SHARE
presentations, etc. Optionally, I suggested contracting Al.

Yes, this forum is about asking questions and sharing information. But it is
not generally the place to explore every nuance of a particular topic in
exhaustive detail. We have day jobs and aren't being paid to do yours for you.
I'm sorry if this seems a bit harsh, when when you started debating the answers
that were "freely" given, I started to suggest you "pay" for the rest.

Fine Bob,

GCL is a feature provided by IBM. I am trying to found out what its
implications are, as the detail available out there is a bit sketchy. I would
have loved some feedback from the IBMers as to all the potential benefits.
Is this not what this group is about?

Errol,

Pardon me for jumping in here, but I suggest you engage Al in a
consulting gig. He was kind enough to answer your original question, but
the information you are requesting here he makes his living providing.

Just my $.02. I'm sure Al will correct me if I am wrong.

Bob
