E-Mail, cut&paste, attachment, print-outs, etc.

"Protecting" FTP doesn't protect data.
Protecting data does.

If I have access to the data, I can copy and transfer it, with or without FTP.

Give me cut and paste and a stick-drive.
If I have a PC at home, you can't stop me.

Not that I would do it, but (unfortunately) you have to trust somebody, or they 
can't do their job!
