I think this may result from a couple of things: - The mainframe community seems to be more practical than the internet at large. For the most part, our users are savvy about knowing the difference between a free and paid offering, even for the same software product. - We try to be very clear about what we provide. Anyone can use our products for free under our community license, and we maintain a community forum where we answer questions as time permits. For customers that require more stringent service level agreements [and commercial license terms (warranties, indemnities, etc)], we offer subscription pricing under two enterprise license and support agreement options. We weren't sure how well this approach would work when we started offering Co:Z, but we've been pleasantly surprised by the reception to the product and our service offerings. --Steve Goetze Dovetailed Technologies PS> For an overview of our support offerings: http://www.dovetail.com/support.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
