Lizette, There is an option within CA 1 called SMS that can be set to EXT (EXTended). This will store the SMS Management class in the TMC record at the file-level.
For Dataclas you would have to use the new (new with 14.0) TMOKEYxx member and have the Dataclas stored at the volume level in the 50-byte user area. You do not have to code any exit to do this, we support a dozen different fields (DATACLAS, STORCLAS, creating USERID, creating SYSPLEX) that can be optionally stored in the user-area without having to code an assembler exit. Take a look at the documentation for TMOKEYxx. If you need further assistance with the TMOKEYxx member, feel free to contact me at the office. I have various sizes of tape in my TS7700. I am trying to see what dataclas was used for a specific dataset Thank you Lizette ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
