I don't usually want XEDIT to work like ISPF EDIT, just to have all of the 
features, e.g., both column shifts and data shifst. I would leave < and > as 
column shifts in XEDIT, even though they are data shifts in ISPF.

Indeed. Several times I've offered to help ISPF folks create a PROFILE XEDIT
that would make it work like ISPF; we've never gotten it off the ground,
because reasons. I use ISPF but don't consider myself enough of a power user
to do this on my own (whereas XEDIT I know *very* well, including
internals).



When I'm in XEDIT (or more likely KEDIT, these days) and do a FIND BANANA
when I mean /BANANA I grumble and laugh.
