Whenever I get an error I try to dump the relevant data. SDUMP gives the whole 9 yards a lot of which I don't need in addition I like looking at the data ISPF Browse rather than IPCS
SNAPX you must supply a DCB SDUMPX you enter a DCB only if you want (optionally) The DCB info for SNAPX is VB and BSAM I say BSAM because I wanted to write some info to the snapx file (after doing the analysis in my ESTAE of where the program abend I first wrote the SNAPX file ) wondering If I can do the same for the SDUMPX file If I supply my own DCB its say RECFM =FB LRECL=4160, and BLKSIZE=4160. Doesn't specify QSAM or BSAM Its up to me which to Use If I want to write additional data to the file I am trying to dump a dataspace (that is owned by an other address space) SNAPX doc says "The system dumps storage from any data space to which the caller has authority" I interpret this to mean that the ALET is on my DU-AL Hope I am reading this right as I am trying to keep things simple by that I mean using SNAPX rather than becoming authorized and using IPCS for SDUMPX Thankx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
