Richard,

You don't mention your tape management system. If you are using CA 1
Flexible Storage, there is a batch utility called TMSOSCAT that can list all
the files still on the MVS/Catalog (as a tape data set) but not in the TMC
anymore (regardless of the volsers). You can then easily edit the output
report into the DELETE NONVSAM statements to clean up the old catalog
entries.
