O wow, I had to go look 'cuz I didn't think they (or I) were that old!  The 
first 3390 shipped in 1989.  I can say I have never used them.  The company I 
was at during this time went from 3380s to a 9340 and then adding a RAMAC2.  It 
was really nice replacing 13 3380/3880 cabinets with 2 racks.  😊
