As LBD hinted, each call to pxwunix opens a fresh
execution environment with a default or inherited
directory
You might change the working directory of your TSO
session with:
say SYSCALLS(' ON' )
address SYSCALL 'chdir /test/app/cics/java/work_dir/'
... but be careful. I have done it for ISPF 3.17.
BTW, 'out.' is a REXX string passed to BPXWUNIX, and
most safely quoted.
