Hi, During an audit of our virtual tape system, we found many virtual volumes that were assigned the wrong category. This caused these virtual volumes to be unusable. We're trying to correct the problem. If we use ISMF option 2.3 (Mountable Tape) to change the attributes of the virtual volume to PRIVATE and then back to SCRATCH, the volume is assigned the correct category. We're looking for a way to do this in batch, since we have a about 400 virtual volumes that need to be fixed.
We tried using these commands: ALTER VD02026 VOLENT USEATTRIBUTE(PRIVATE) STORAGEGROUP(TAPE) ALTER VD02026 VOLENT USEATTRIBUTE(SCRATCH) But they don't do the job. What are we doing wrong? We're using z/OS v3.1.
