Some more clarifications:

 

*       The ESD entries for an object (or load module CESD) external
reference (which V(.), VD(.), EXTRN A(.), and EXTRN A(.) are) do NOT have a
length. That field (bytes 14-16) will be blank. Only a section (SD), private
code (PC), or common (CM) have a length (or 0 - the length is in the END
record).  Also, the ESD entries for an external reference DO NOT indicate
that the entry is for a VCON or ADCON (see the next point about RLDs).

 

*       The OBJECT (or load module) RLD entries DO have a code that allows
you to distinguish between a VCON and an ADCON.
