Not quite. z390 *already* implements VD. However, it doesn't set LL correctly, according to the pdld author. And when I went to ask about that discrepancy vis-a-vis the IBM documentation, there was a "VD doesn't exist" red herring (which you helped clear up - thanks). The pdld author and myself are still waiting on an official z390 response before updating pdld to match IBM documentation (which we can't actually test the result of, as no-one has volunteered to test the z/OS module). > Nothing beyond that was intended by his request.
