I'm trying to be considerate, and I'm also about to give up. I'm relatively new to the list, and I appreciate the knowledge of the more-experienced members, so I do not want to exasperate the problem. After this, I'll cease posting about this particular topic.
Having said that... You didn't actually answer my question. I'm asking about THIS specific post: "My bet is none of you saw that as an investment opportunity. And yet NVIDIA is making me a bundle. Earnings are released on May 20th. Investment houses are raising NVIDIA targets, one advisor to $350. In 1 month it's up over 10%. Might get to 6 trillion by the end of May. If you had invested 100k a month ago, you'd have made 14k. Easy money." You are well aware that this is a technical group, about IBM, z/OS, and related technical topics. How can you think that you bragging about money you have made by buying a particular stock is pertinent to the topics discussed on this list? It doesn't matter at all that company you happened to have made money in is a tech company. That is simply an aside. Pro- and anti-AI discussions are certainly topics worth discussing. Pro- and anti-hiring practices, salaries paid to IT professional, even things like work visas and outsourcing are likely pertinent. So, I will repeat: How can you think that you bragging about money you have made by buying a particular stock is pertinent to the topics discussed on this list? My theory, even as a relative newbie: You have a bone to pick with one (or many) other members on the list, and you love "stirring the pot." >From what I have read, you have been booted off this list at least once, >possibly many times, and you just come back under a different name, a >different email, probably a different IP address. Why? If your posts are true about the charitable contributions that you make (to teachers, etc.) then that is something to be lauded. (See? I do read your posts.) Why tarnish that with other posts that are just petty and trollish? My request to you, and I ask this with the respect a newbie should show to those more experienced: Please, just stop it. If you choose to reply, I hope that your reply will simply be along the lines of, "Yeah, I went a bit too far. My bad. Sorry, everyone; I'll try to reel it in a bit." I am 99.9% sure that, were you to post some like what I wrote above, virtually all of the members of the group will let bygones be bygones. That's my final post on this matter. --Greg -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Dick Williams Sent: Monday, May 18, 2026 12:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: IBM-MAIN Rules I consider numerous things I read and post appropriate.
