I wonder how it does that? (Screen fields)
We had a CICS menu system that only gave users app selections they were allowed
to use, but it used a called program that called RACF, it saved individual menu
data in TS chained off the TCTUA.  Users never entered trans id’s.

HIPAA would certainly be a good reason for TSS, if it’s the only MF security
package that protects fields on CICS screens. That’s the first time I’ve heard
that. Medical Mutual of Ohio, whom I worked for from 2003-2017, used TSS from
before HIPAA and we always joked (assumed) that it was because TSS was cheaper.
Perhaps your reasoning is more likely.I was the installer/maintenance of TSS
person at Medical Mutual. HIPAA was a huge focus because of the penalties for
violations.

Hi Dick,
Way back in 2002, I worked for Missouri and Illinois state government.
This shop was TSS. I asked why and was told that it is the only ESM that
can protect fields on a CICS Screen (rather than the whole screen).
Apparently it was related to HIPAA.
The other (less granular) 2 only go as far as the screen itself.

David
