[sigh]
As I told PHSiii, I should count to ten (or similar) before clicking
"Send" in certain situations.
I've been out of commission for 2+ weeks, so I'll blame my venting on
the carbonite thaw.
Anyway ... I'm sorry.
My tone and language are not warranted.
Condemnation of IBM's actions (perhaps not the whole, but some of the
details) is justified ... at least debatable. (But it's a free market.
Where do we take these cases?)

Someone (other than me) should bitch and moan loudly (that is, those

The future (and the past ... THREE DECADES) is Fixed Block. And yet
we're still saddled with a nucleus that chokes on such technology.
The trouble with IBM is that they don't simply drop support for these
things. More often they actually BREAK shit. I'm not aware of any
other vendor (oh ... Red Hat ... but, oh ... now the red part of Big
Blue) that actually BREAKS shit. I could cite when RH did so ... long
ago in a galaxy far away ... but not far enough.
