Except lack of IBM will to enhance it? I doubt it.
It's one of numerous oooooold requirements which are fulfilled very
seldom, maybe because it's usually quite easy to circumvent the problem.
Examples:
- job class protection (no longer valid in z/OS 2.1, like some others below)
- symbols in JCL
- PARM field limit
- passsword syntax features (length, allowed characters, rules,
dictionary checking)
etc. etc. etc.
