Define as many physical volumes as you need(separate from the IBM defined volumes), And apportion *all* of the logical volumes to the "new" physical volumes.
The dialogs will tell you if too much data has been allocated to a particular physical volume. Even we have 10 volumes in the LPAR, It just displays only 3 volumes in “Physical volume summary” option of MODIFY SYSTEM LAYOUT. So that when i proceed with Automatic system layout option, its not able to allocate all the datasets.
