Peter, I would imagine that an IBM Red Book might be the correct path to achieve this, however I am not sure how these things get sponsored or setup.

CF a thread I started some years back about modifying the DUCT of a task to enable the TRAP and COMPARE-AND-TRAP instructions to actually work. That project died on the vine because there isn't any competent and complete example anywhere. I'm afraid it will take a contribution to the CBT by yourself and/or some of the other senior developers here to get an actual example published of how to do all this correctly. I strongly suspect that the IBM resources who would be able to develop a complete example are far too heavily tasked with actually modifying and adding code to the operating system or crucial business components to be permitted to devote the round tuits to just document how to do it correctly. "No business justification". It would be ever so helpful if the contributed example included a PC-SS client interface component, and examples of how to correctly set up and run an SRB in the client task space (for instance to set the TRAP address in the client DUCT for debugging purposes), not to mention examples of well-structured and robust recovery routines everywhere. What are you doing on your summer vacation this year? <*Grin*> Peter -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Rob Scott Sent: Saturday, July 11, 2015 5:55 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: SYSTEM KEY Programming Was: IVSK and SPKA <Snipped> I think that what is lacking in the Authorized Programming manuals is a really well written example of how to implement a client server application. While the descriptions of the services and their parameters are well documented, a decent working example would really help the community understand the issues and prevent the proliferation of public domain code with (how shall I put it?) non-optimal designs.
