We have a tool that maps the F1DSCB and it shows:
Allocation parms ...... C8000000                                         
                        11.. .... Cylinder request                       
                        ..0. .... Mass Storage Volume                    
                        ...0 .... Secondary space descriptor exists      
                        .... 1... Contiguous request                     
                        .... .0.. MXIG request                           
                        .... ..0. ALX request                            
                        .... ...0 Round                                  

So the info is retained.
