Lizette, I cannot answer *what* to monitor, other than doing a D OMVS,L to see
your current use, highwater use, and limit for it. We now run with
MAXMMAPAREA(128000) due to a OEM DB2 change data capture product that reads
its config files into memory, and when I had this value set to low the product,
and any admins that would access the product through their interface would
abend. I was originally set at IBM default, and had to gradually keep
incrementing it up over time to where we are now. We have not seen any
negative fallout, but not know *where* to look is a bit daunting....

So that's a 128K page dataspace which translates into a highwater mark of 500M,
but that is system-wide, not per user. According to the doc, the space isn't
allocated and then only incrementally, until used. Our use of the CDC product
has tapered off somewhat, so I may reduce this back to 64000.

Just a quick question.

What might be the impact of increasing this OMVS limit from 40,000 to 120,000

What areas of OMVS or z/OS do I need to monitor to make sure "bad things" do
not happen

Thanks
