Disclaimer: I am not a C guy.

64-bit C is XPLINK.
XPLINK-64 allocates the stack above the bar.
The save area that is passed to a non-XPLINK program is allocated from the 
stack.

Unless there is a way to alter this behavior, 64-bit C cannot call an AMODE(31) 
program.
