Lol... The US is in the midst of a craft beer craze, so you may be able to
find some acceptable brews.  I judge beer on how closely it resembles a
glass of Coors at 34F, so you'll need others for advice on that.

As for power, an accident with 110V is less likely to invoke a life
insurance payout rather than 220V (which we do generally have available for
stoves, dryers, HVAC, etc.).

I foolishly bought a clock-radio in Germany because it was the only one I
found with a 24-hour display.  Turns out the clock time was based on the
power frequency (which reasonably affordable adapters cannot convert) :-(.
