Couple of things to check. Do you have any records that have SPACES X'40' or Decimal Dot X'4B' ? Both these would cause an S0C7. If you say the VERIFY operator shows every record as valid, I would like to see the Complete joblog( Both SORT+SUM and the VERIFY).
