*Job Description:*

Our client, a large financial Organization would like to engage a Business
Analyst.

*Systems Analyst / Business Analyst* - Investment Bank - Derivatives /
Equity Derivatives. Global investment banking & securities firm requires a
Business Analyst to act as a conduit between business users & local software
development teams covering - front, middle & back-office trading &
processing systems - predominantly Equities/Equity Derivatives. The Business
Analyst should have *progressed from technical background and must* have
good experience worked within the Derivatives area of the Financial
Industry.

The BA will be responsible for overall delivery of requirements analysis for
the above business areas and to drive technology solutions to completion.
The Business Analyst is responsible for representing the Operations Area
dealing with Derivative Products and supports gathering enhancements for the
*COSTAR IT* product which is a *home grown product*.



*Department Overview:*

COSTAR IT team develops, maintains and supports application and technology
infrastructure for all aspects of confirmation functionality for OTC
derivatives. Globally deployed multi-tier system is developed in C/C++ and
uses technologies like asynchronous messaging, XML, COM, MS Exchange, MS
Word, Business Objects etc. on Unix and Windows platform with Sybase and UDB
databases. Application is currently used by Commodities, Equities, Foreign
Exchange, Fixed Income, Bank Loans and Futures middle office and operations
and is likely to on board other business areas.



*Required Skills: *



Non Technical and Interpersonal Strengths:

Strong in capturing business requirement and translating it into technical
requirements

This is a high visibility position and therefore must be comfortable working
under pressure and under stiff deadlines

*Excellent problem solving skills*, with *accurate decision
making*abilities under pressure

Ability to re-engineer processes from initial problem analysis through to
solution implementation

Ability to manage multiple projects and confidently deal with people at all
levels

At least five years of Financial Industry experience specifically with in an
*IT Development Organization developing or supporting products* that were
used within the following functions Derivatives; Equities; Foreign Exchange;
Operations; Loans and Mortgages etc.



*Technical Strengths:*

Must have a solid knowledge of *writing SQL Queries* and *Scripts* within
the *Sybase* and *UDB* environment

Strong in *PERL / KORN* and *Shell scripting*

Technology awareness and a sound understanding of the *development project
lifecycle*

Excellent *interpersonal skills*, a *positive* and *flexible approach* and
the *ability* to *work individually* or as *part of a team*

Extensively used office products such as MS Word; Excel; Visio; PowerPoint

*Desired Skills:*

Experience with asynchronous messaging and tools such as TIBCO

Knowledge of MS Exchange;

Exposure to C++; Java+ OOP Concepts; COM; XML;
