Often, the word "quit" or "exit" will get you out of whatever you've gotten yourself into. :-) Also, control-c. This is whatever character generates 0x5F on your emulator (typically ^ or logical not, depending on code page) followed by lower-case 'c' (no space) and then press ENTER. (What is the 'if' command?)
