Specify SUPPRESSNOTIFICATION in your
SMTP CONFIG file I believe that support was added in z/VM 4.4.0

If you're on z/VM 5.1.0 or later, you
can specify RECEIVED, DELIVERED, or ALL after SUPPRESSNOTIFICATION to have
a bit more control over which messages you suppress
