1. 192.168.194.1 isn't a host. I was under the impression that,
192.168.194.1 is the default gateway for a router. Of course, I'm
usually wrong in the IP world<G>.

2. Based on z/VM 5.1 on LPAR1, I should be able to ping the
205.235.227.xx addresses.
The CONFIG file for LPAR1 has:
GATEWAY

START [EMAIL PROTECTED]

; (End START statements)

This is a simular setup, as VMTEST has.

Tom,

You have one network device on your system (QDIO1 - 192.168.193.3).

Your routing table states that you have a direct connection throught
that
device to 205.235.227.0/24 which is not on your network. So, you're
not
on the same network as the default gateway you have configured, which
would explain why you cannot PING 205.235.227.41, 205.235.227.74 and
192.168.3.21. As to why you can't PING 192.168.194.1, I'm not sure, is

that host up? Is that host actually attached to the same network as
QDIO1?
