1. 192.168.194.1 isn't a host. I was under the impression that, 192.168.194.1 is the default gateway for a router. Of course, I'm usually wrong in the IP world<G>.
2. Based on z/VM 5.1 on LPAR1, I should be able to ping the 205.235.227.xx addresses. The CONFIG file for LPAR1 has: GATEWAY ; Network First Link MTU Subnet Subnet ; Address Hop Name Size Mask Value ; ------------- --------------- ---------------- ----- --------------- -------- 192.168.192 = QDIO1 1500 000.000.003.0 0 DEFAULTNET 192.168.192.1 QDIO1 1500 0 ; (End GATEWAY Static Routing information) ; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- START [EMAIL PROTECTED] ; (End START statements) This is a simular setup, as VMTEST has. Tom Duerbusch THD Consulting >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 12/5/2006 11:20 AM >>> Tom, You have one network device on your system (QDIO1 - 192.168.193.3). Your routing table states that you have a direct connection throught that device to 205.235.227.0/24 which is not on your network. So, you're not on the same network as the default gateway you have configured, which would explain why you cannot PING 205.235.227.41, 205.235.227.74 and 192.168.3.21. As to why you can't PING 192.168.194.1, I'm not sure, is that host up? Is that host actually attached to the same network as QDIO1? Regards, Miguel Delapaz z/VM TCP/IP Development
