The Java API will probably slow you down enough that you don't monopolize the LDAP server ;-) I recall that just the web interface doing one request per connection slowed me down 2 orders of magnitude. On the serious side - if the powers decide to hide the LDAP server behind some web interface you have little choice. The reason for doing that may be to add more access control. Rob
