Internally in IBM there used to be a version -that I carefully keep (and use
on WinXP and OS/2)- that runs on Windows. A few years ago I tried to
contact the author, without success, to make it available on the www. It
dates from 2001, so it is behind CMS, but close enough to be useful. Here
an extract of the help with some names:

The initial versions of the OS/2 Pipelines program and this documentation
(up to version 0.53) were written by Mark VanTassel during 1993 and 1994.
Since Mark has left IBM (ISSC) in September 1994, ownership of the OS2PIPE
package has been transferred to Frans de Bruijn.

Ronald van der Laan wrote the first version of the BUFFER, COLLATE, LOOKUP,
and SORT stages.

Shintaroh Hori provided code for enhancements of the COMMAND, CMD, and
STDCMD stages.
Don't be confused by the word 'OS2PIPE', that was the start, it evolved in
W32PIPE:

Since 1999 this program has been ported to AIX and 32-bit Windows (that is
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000). The name of the
package is still "OS/2 Pipelines" for historic (sentimental?) reasons.

2007/4/13, Fred Goethals <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I am moving some REXX scripts from VM to Windows server using OORexx for
Win32. The REXX code moves well but I'm having issues with PIPE commands.

My question. Is there a version of the VM pipeline command 'PIPE' that
runs on Windows?
