Cross posted to IBMVM,IBMMAIN and LINUX390 for everyone's interest Hi, I'm responding to these questions that were posted on IBMMAIN but thought perhaps others on VM and Linux would also want to read.

No scheduling tool. But on site you will receive a conference directory which has another way of presenting the grid by /time/rooms to help you - and it includes the abstracts to help you with your planning. Sorry about that excel worksheet...it's just the file that Glenn, Julie and I use as we're putting things together. We thought it best to make it available as our work progressed but know it's not the ideal for planning your week. The cube/grid format is being worked (we were given a prelim copy today to review) and asked for it to be put up on the web site, with a caveat of subj to change. (I keep a post-it note version of the VM track on my wall -- my old share habits -- sticky-the-wall have stayed with me). > 2) during their sessions do they have wireless access available to > access and view the session handouts over the web (or are they still > paper oriented) ? The plan is to have wireless available in session rooms. There's also a CYBERCAFE for those who wish to use it during the week. As I understand it, the attendees will be receiving (soon) the url where the presentation handouts will be so you can check them out in advance. A few years ago, we thought we had minimized paper handouts by by providing a conference CD, but then our VM,VSE and Linux tech conference merged with z/OS Expo which was not ready to give up paper yet. This year there's no CD. Paper handouts will be available in the session, and leftovers (if any) are put on a handout table. Feel free to express your opinions about handouts, presentations, CDs on the conference survey - that way the whole conference team sees them vs my telling them what you say. > 3) any hints/tips for a z/expo first timer? If you get there on Sunday, best to register and get your badge and packet of info so you can plan your Monday. The keynote is in the Marriott but all the rest of the sessions are going to be in the convention center. Breakfast M-F and Lunch M-TH are part of the conference registration. Be sure to come to the IBM Solutions center (the exhibit area). Monday evening, Tues lunchtime, Tues evening, Wed lunchtime. That's where you'll be able to find people, mix and mingle and there's always something different going on each time. Hope this helps and that you and anyone else who plans to attend will stop by the IBM booth and say Hello ! Regards, Pam C
