Tom -

Thanks for correcting the URL I gave for TXT2PDF.

We use TXT2PDF to send print for student transcripts directly to a PDF
capable printer. The university seal and registrar's signature are
included in the PDF so they don't have to be pre-printed on the form.

The transcript is requested via a CICS transaction that submits a batch
job to VSE.

The print is generated by a VSE COBOL program from VSAM files and is
spooled to the PDF VM machine that wakes up and runs a PIPE. The PIPE
reads directly from the RDR, calls the PDF stage and spools it off to
RSCS.

Recently we began using http://www.scrip-safe.com/ to deliver
transcripts electronically. We use the same process except that RSCS
routes the output to a different "printer." See
http://www.scrip-safe.com/sendtrans.html
for a description of how this works.

Pretty cool! (IMHO)
