According to Romney White of z/VM Design:
"z/VM will support OS//390 V2R8 if and only if OS/390 V2R8 is supported on
the underlying hardware (regardless of whether z/OS V2R8 is still in
support).

Romney"
I would take this to mean that as long as you can run OS/390 2.5 natively on
the z800, you should be able to run it under any version of z/VM.

Subject: z/OS Compatibility

I am currently running z/VM 4.4 on a 2066-003 with the following OS/390
guests:

4 @ 2.5
1 @ 2.8
2 @ 2.9
5 @ 2.10

Does anybody see a compatibility problem in upgrading to either z/VM 5.3 or
5.4 and running those versions of OS/390?

Thank you,
