I've received the following reply from DRPC's author, Jiri Stehlik, this
morning:

This error message gets generated whenever you try to specify more then o
ne
DDR stage in a single pipeline. Like 'PIPE DDR | ... | DDR'.
It also gets generated if an instance of DDR crashed and the local variab
le
used to detect multiple instances was not cleared, if this happens you ca
n
clear it manually by executing:
GLOBALV SET DDRPIPES OFF
