What utility are you using to dump the minidisks? If you're using DDR to dump the minidisks its OUTPUT statement's 'altape' parameter lets you give a 2nd drive address. altape the address of an alternate tape drive. The alternate tape address is only used when a DUMP command reaches the end of the tape, or a read operation reaches the END-OF-VOLUME marker placed at the end of the tape during a DUMP operation.
