Since it is a DIAGNOSE, you will automatically be dumped out of SIE.  You 
may be able to infer some performance effects by looking at the 
Performance Reports from when we added ESA/XC architecture, some 17 years 
ago, as this is how non-XC mode CMS virtual machine access file data in an 
SFS dircontrol dataspace.
