The things you learn while implementing CSE (any or all of it) will prove invaluable in the transition to the "single system image" of the future: - Maintaining a common directory - Maintaining a common security context - Managing cross-sytem LINKs (incl. MDC) - Dealing with cross-system spool - Messaging - Applying service - Workload management - DR management - LPAR cloning and others. So while CSE includes a set of technologies, it is first and foremost a change in how you perceive and manage a set of z/VM images in order to provide higher levels of virtual server availability and of data integrity, both with as little administrative overhead as possible.
