That one for example does not consider NOLOG users as valid target (because they can't read their PROFS mail :-) While this will create a religious war without doubt, a popular approach is "LINK <userid>" with nothing else, and act on the return codes 53 and 22. This tells whether the user is in the directory or not. The good part is that it does not involve an ESM check yet. Rob
