You forgot that the LPR *client* doesn't use port 515, but ports 721-731, inclusive (per RFC 1179). The SECURE=NO recommended by others eliminates the need to reserve those client ports for RSCS. The CMS LPR command only uses the RFC-defined port if you specify the "RFCports" option on the command. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
