Do you find this as effective with a side pull as a bit - I think it's
the fine tuning stuff like this, is where I see the difference. The
stopping part, I don't really see much difference - if they are going
to run through a sidepull, they are going to run through a bit. I did
feel Kolur respond to the pulses in the side pull but I think I would
have had a better feel with a bit. They are so many things I really
like about a side pull, especially on the trail, that those real fine
tuning things could be saved for sessions in the arena.

I'm way behind on emails because I'm trying to get two businesses started and
it's a ton of work.
Anyway, I switched Kolur to a sidepull when I saw my instructor ride him in a
bit in the arena. He
kept poking his nose in the air and I could just tell that very mild bit was
bothering the heck out of him.
His teeth were recently floated so I don't think that was it.
He is just SO much more relaxed in a sidepull. No more running off or throwing
his head around.

Kolur is a character in the winter when he has extra time on his hands. He
wants to have fun!
He wants to do clicker training and follows me around everywhere. He loves
chasing Decker, our naughtiest goat.
And Decker gets him back. He pushed a gate against Kolur's butt today and
managed to dodge the repercussions.
Got to get a video clip of those two...

Sue
