My mare has been without shoes for 2 years, but has been ouchy most of that
time.
A barefoot trimmer (another of Pete's followers) has trimmed her 3 times and
said
to ride her without the Easy Boots for short periods in place where she
would normally
get ouchy. Her size 00's are too big for her now so I can't rely on them
and will wait
for another 3 trims before I decide on a size, or if I even will need them.
Remember,
Raven, the iron was not sure protection against a sore foot now and then. I
have
noticed that I need to allow my horse to take a few more seconds deciding
where
she wants to put her feet and I never ask for tolt on rough ground.
