Some friends called today, Christiina and Nate, whose disabled sister owns
the Icelandic mare Lina, a therapy horse.

They asked if our Stephanie would like to come ride Lina or if we would like
help with working with Tosca.

We opted for Tosca. So we had Stephanie, in her electric wheelchair, two
strangers and a big green mounting block all in the hall of the barn.

Tosca remembered Stephanie and the chair - they come bearing treats.

She was a little edgy about the strangers, but it really touched my heart to
watch her face and eyes relax when she realized I was part of the goings on.
Both of these mares have formed the nicest attachment.

We ended up leading Nate up and down the hall of the barn, ridind Tosca in my
30+ year old Steubben saddle. Wish I'd had a camera, but I never dreamed
we'd get that far. She was absolutely calm and sensible.

Man! I'm in love. Again.

Nancy
