I think you should send the stallion owner a bill for the vet for Doppa's shot, Laree. Even if he doesnt pay maybe it would make him think for a minute of consequences. I think you are very lucky. The man next door had a horrible mean stallion and two mares. One mare broke the fence down twice trying to get at Nasi who acted clueless, and when she did the stallion would scream and go nuts and I would know if he got loose he would come kill nasi and if he did all my geldings would run to fight him and Lord only knows all the vet bills. A friend rode by his house on the road one time on her way to the water management area and said the stallion charged the fence at her over and over and said if it had gotten loose he would have killed her trying to get at her mare. She said "I guess he hasnt heard of the leash law and how he is liable for everything if his stallion gets loose..."
Stallions have hurt people and killed horses when loose like this. Janice
