Cool pictures-like you say, almost unbelievable! It almost seems necessary 
to be young, foolish, and be free to do as you like with a sensible 
(probably grade) horse to really learn to ride and connect with horses, as 
opposed to taking riding lessons to learn to ride "correctly" to win 
ribbons.

I used to think I was missing something growing up riding saddleless and 
bridless, jumping over the backs of kitchen chairs with my calm little 
mustangs, but when I grew up and started buying purebred American horses, I 
was shocked at the difference.
